Gandhi Jayanti & Swachh Bharat Activities

Gandhi Jayanti, celebrated annually on October 2, is observed across Alluri Sitarama Raju (ASR) District, Andhra Pradesh, to commemorate the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and promote the ideals of truth, non-violence, and cleanliness. The day is marked by tribute ceremonies, prayer meetings, and community activities involving government departments, educational institutions, and local organizations. As part of the Swachh Bharat Mission, the district organizes cleanliness drives, tree plantation programs, plastic-free awareness campaigns, sanitation initiatives, and public participation events in villages, schools, tourist destinations, and public spaces. Students, volunteers, and citizens actively take part in keeping their surroundings clean and spreading awareness about hygiene and environmental responsibility
